My First Time Losing My Ring

Tuesday's here, and I don't know about everyone else, but I'm looking forward to catching Southland tonight!!! (It's one of my favs and I'm glad to be back to the return of good TV).

And speaking of good things, today's secret is about the return of one of the best things a gal could ask for: a diamond ring.

And not just any diamond ring.

Her wedding ring.

That's right. Today's secret is about a wife that lost her wedding ring on what she felt was the worst day imaginable. It was she and her husband's tenth anniversary. And her entire family was gathering at her in-law's house to celebrate, which of course included her mother-in-law.

Now, the wife didn't have a terrible relationship with her mother-in-law. But she always found herself falling victim to her constant schooling about all things she felt a woman ought to do. So, she knew that arriving at her mother-in-law's house on her anniversary without her wedding ring would become the talk of the night as soon as her ringless finger was spotted.

But she went anyways.

She couldn't find the ring for the life of her, so she went without it, deciding attending her own party was more important than cowering to her fear of embarrassment. But when she got there, she was beyond embarrassed.

She was surprised.

She learned that she hadn't lost her wedding ring.

Her husband took it to have three more stones added to it: their two birthstones and their daughter's birthstone. And it was the best surprise she'd ever gotten in her life, but she was also relieved to not have to offer her mother-in-law an explanation.
